Body

WHEREAS, the Fire Department would like to apply for the 2020 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant to hire 12 additional firefighters; and

WHEREAS, the grant amount would be $3,580,267, of which the federal government would provide $3,580,267 to support these additional firefighter positions over the next 3 years; and

WHEREAS, there is no local match requirement for this grant, now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the Fire Department to apply for the 2020 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant.
