Title

Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department in the amount of $14,200 for the 2019 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness Grant.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Fire Department applied for and received a grant of $14,200 from the State of Minnesota for the 2019 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness Grant to provide hazardous materials training for firefighters; and

 

WHEREAS, the grant includes an in-kind match of $3,550 which will be met with firefighters salaries that are attending the training; and

 

WHEREAS, the Fire Department received approval to apply for this grant on RES 20-546; and

 

WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the grant received; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $14,200 in excess of those estimated in the 2021 budget; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends the following additional changes be made to the 2021 budget:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts this grant and hereby approves the changes to the 2021 budget referenced in this resolution, and furthermore authorizes the appropriate city officials to execute and implement the grant agreement for the 2019 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness Grant.
