Pertaining to the retirement of Saint Paul Regional Water Services General Manager, Steve Schneider.
Body
WHEREAS, Stephen Schneider has faithfully served the Board of Water Commissioners and the customers of St. Paul Regional Water Services (SPRWS) for over 30 years; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Schneider has served as SPRWS’s General Manager for 17 years and provided innovative and collaborative leadership to staff and the Board of Water Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Schneider has exemplified a commitment to providing reliable, quality water and services at a reasonable cost during his tenure; and
WHEREAS, Under Mr. Schneider’s leadership, SPRWS and its staff have established a culture of excellent service to its 450,000 customers; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Schneider led the development of a revenue funded capital program that is focused on buried infrastructure to ensure system reliability; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Schneider has created and ensured the institutionalization of preventative maintenance programs for the distribution and production assets to increase system reliability and improve life cycle costs; and
WHEREAS, Due to Mr. Schneider’s leadership and foresight, SPRWS is financially and structurally positioned to complete a once in a generation investment in improvements to the McCarrons Water Treatment Plant that will serve the St. Paul area for the next 50 years; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Schneider has represented SPRWS and served with distinction the water industry in leadership roles with the American Water Works Association and Association of Municipal Water Agencies; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Schneider will retire from the Saint Paul Regional Water Services effective March 31, 2021; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Board of Water Commissioners commends Stephen Schneider for his outstanding and dedicated leadership and service; and, be it
