Approving the Mayor’s appointment of Matt Slaven to a six-year term to the Saint Paul Port Authority.

WHEREAS, Minnesota State Statute 469.050 (Subdivision 1) states that the Saint Paul Port Authority consists of seven (7) commissioners, two of whom must be members of the Saint Paul City Council, appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Council; and
WHEREAS, Matt Slaven expressed an interest in serving as a commissioner on the Saint Paul Port Authority given his professional background in working in areas involving land use and zoning, real estate development, construction law, public utilities, agricultural facilities, solid waste management facilities, environmental review, and regulatory matters; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Carter wishes to appoint Matt Slaven to the Saint Paul Port Authority to a six-year term ending on February 1, 2027; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council consents to the appointment of Matt Slaven to a six-year term ending February 1, 2027, as a commissioner on the Saint Paul Port Authority.
