Authorizing the Police Department to accept a gift from the Saint Paul Police K-9 Foundation.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police K-9 Foundation is a tax-exempt nonprofit corporation organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes to provide financial support for the Saint Paul Police Canine Unit; and
WHEREAS, the K-9 Foundation would like to donate dual purpose German Shepard, birth name “SZEM” ($6,850.00) and Mix Malinois, birth name “MALA” (9,250) to be added to the K-9 unit and assigned to the two new handlers; and
WHEREAS, the SPPD would like to accept these generous donations from the St. Paul Police K-9 Foundation for which the public purpose is for public safety; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this generous donation and extend its sincere thanks to the Saint Paul Police K-9 Foundation.
