Title

Authorizing the Fire Department to enter into a joint powers agreement with the City of Falcon Heights to provide fire and hazardous materials response to the City of Falcon Heights.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Minn. Stat. 471.59 permits two or more governmental units, by agreement entered into through action of their governing bodies, to enter into agreements to exercise jointly or cooperatively governmental powers common to each and to permit one governmental entity to perform services or functions for another governmental unit; and

 

WHEREAS, Falcon Heights intends to engage Saint Paul's Fire Department to provide fire and hazardous materials team services to all of Falcon Heights; and

 

WHEREAS, Saint Paul through it Fire Department is willing and able to provide the year-round services and equipment desired by Falcon Heights when requested; Now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to execute a fire and hazardous materials response joint powers agreement with the City of Falcon Heights provided by the Saint Paul Fire Department; a copy of said agreement is to be kept on file and of record in the Fire Department.
