Approving a Cooperative Construction Agreement with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) for traffic signal, sidewalk, and roadway surface improvements adjacent to Trunk Highway 94.

WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is proposing to install a new traffic signal on Hamline Avenue at St. Anthony Avenue and Accessible Pedestrian Signals at three existing traffic signals; and
WHEREAS, MnDOT is proposing to install new sidewalks and reconstruct existing sidewalks and pedestrian ramps along local streets that fall within MnDOT right-of-way along and adjacent to Trunk Highway 94; and
WHEREAS, MnDOT has requested the City enter into an agreement to define traffic signal, sidewalk and sewer maintenance responsibilities and to define the City’s cost participation for the traffic signal replacement; and
WHEREAS, the maintenance responsibilities defined in the agreement are consistent with MnDOT and City standard maintenance allocations; and
WHEREAS, the City’s cost share for the traffic signal replacement are defined and calculated within the agreement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City of St. Paul enter into MnDOT Agreement No. 1044590 with the State of Minnesota Department of Transportation; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED that the appropriate City employees and officials are authorized to make appropriate final modifications to the agreement; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED that the appropriate City employees and officials are authorized to execute the agreement and any amendments to the agreement.
