Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to apply for grant funds of $5,000 from The Aldi Smart Kids Program to support the McDonough Girls and Women in Sports Project.

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting permission to apply for $5,000 in grant funds from the Aldi Smart Kids Program to support the McDonough Girls and Women in Sports Project; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds, if awarded, will provide the ability to create virtual sports opportunities and provide physical sports kits to Saint Paul youth; and
WHEREAS, there is no match of these funds by the City and other supporting agencies of the McDonough Girls and Women in Sports Project; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes the Parks and Recreation
Department to apply for said grant, and if awarded, accept said funds from The Aldi Smart Kids Program.
