Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept an $8,000 donation from the Como Snowsports Booster Club which will go towards a lease of a snow making machine for use at the Como Winter Sports Program.

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation will lease a snowmaking machine from TechnoAlpin for use at the Como Winter Sports Program; and
WHEREAS, the Como Snowsports Booster Club has authorized an $8,000 one-time payment to the Department of Parks and Recreation to defray the costs of this lease; and
WHEREAS, the Como Snowsports Booster Club has been an integral part of designing, promoting, and delivering the winter sports program for years; and
WHEREAS, existing City-owned equipment has reached the end of its viable lifespan and whereas consistently cold and snowy winter conditions have become increasingly unreliable and often threaten the beloved winter sports program; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept an $8,000 donation from the Como Snowsports Booster Club and thanks them for the generous gift.
