Authorizing the Police Department to accept the Saint Paul Police Federation’s donation of a concession style trailer.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department received a donation of a concession style trailer from the Saint Paul Police Federation; and
WHEREAS, the St Paul Police Department Community Engagement Division will use this trailer for our Youth Outreach and Community Partnership programming; and
WHEREAS, due to the design of the trailer (concession-style), the trailer could be used at department sponsored events such Safe Summer Nights and National Night Out as a venue to not only distribute information about the department’s outreach efforts and crime prevention programming, but to also aid in the department’s recruitment efforts (e.g. LECPA, CLOs, PEOs); and
WHEREAS, in addition, the trailer could be used in conjunction with the department’s Bike Cops for Kids Truck events as well as various PAL programming activities, either as a space to share information or to simply haul additional equipment if needed; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul accepts this donation and thanks the Saint Paul Police Federation for the donation.
