Pertaining to Amendment No. 2 to the McCarron’s Plant Improvement Project Owner’s Representative Agreement with Brown & Caldwell to provide a pre-ozonation water treatment study.

WHEREAS, the Board of Water Commissioners entered into a professional services agreement with Brown and Caldwell which defined the terms and conditions for Brown and Caldwell to serve the Board as Owner’s Representative for the McCarron’s Plant Improvement Design/Build Project (the “Agreement”); and
WHEREAS, Brown and Caldwell has faithfully complied with all requirements and conditions of said Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the parties desire to amend the Agreement to include a bench-scale investigation into the efficacy of pre-ozonation for reducing coagulant chemical usage while providing taste and odor treatment; and
WHEREAS, staff has negotiated an Amendment No. 2 to said Agreement which provides for such investigation at a cost not to exceed $65,000; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends approval of said Amendment No. 2; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that Amendment No. 2 to Agreement between the Board of Water Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul and Brown and Caldwell is hereby approved in substantially the form submitted, and that the proper officers are hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendment No. 2 on behalf of the Board, following approval by the assistant city attorney.
