Authorizing the Police Department to enter into a grant agreement with the Office of National Drug Control Policy for the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Programs, and amending the 2020 budget and activity budget.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department (SPPD) has received grant funding from the Office of National Drug Control Policy for the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Program (HIDTA) (RES PH 20-82); and

 

WHEREAS, SPPD has received amendments to the grant award in the amount of $2,800.00 increasing the award to $196,967.00 in order to complete the program initiatives as set forth in the agreement; and

 

WHEREAS, the 2020 financing and spending plan needs to be amended and activity budget added for these funds; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $2,800.00 in excess of those estimated in the 2020 budget and recommends the following changes; and

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts the amendments and approves these changes to the 2020 budget.
