Authorizing the Department of Emergency Management to execute a grant contract amendment for a timeline extension with the State of Minnesota for the 2018 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) grant.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Emergency Management received a grant of $900,000 from the State of Minnesota for the 2018 UASI Grant to purchase CBRNE equipment, EOC equipment, and provide staffing for Emergency Management; and
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota is offering to extend the 2018 UASI Grant period of performance through December 31, 2020 to give the Department of Emergency Management additional time spend the grant money and complete the projects; and
WHEREAS, the original grant agreement was approved on Council Resolution 19-99; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to execute a grant contract amendment for a timeline extension with the State of Minnesota as provided by the Department of Emergency Management.
