Stated Reason for Appeal (if given): I’m calling about the garbage bills I’ve been receiving that’s overdue. It’s been paid as of June 3. I called and they (the customer service representative) claimed it’s been credited but they notified the city as an assessment. They(the customer service representative) referred me to give the city a call because it was a city problem. Please remove the assessment from our building as it has been paid. Also, I would like the city to make it an optional opt-out program to allow homeowners to no longer participate in the trash removal program, as it’s not affordable. I’m proposing the city to reconsider the program to either allow people to pay for their bills, or help people to no longer participate in the trash program, and to be able to choose whoever they want for their hauler. It’ll be easier on homeowners or whoever that’s living in the home in the twin cities.
Staff Comments: Hauler confirmed that there had been no payments made on the account during Quarter 4 2019. Therefore staff recommends approving the assessment.
