Approving the Mayor’s appointment of Matt Slaven to the Saint Paul Port Authority.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Port Authority was established by the Minnesota Legislature as a non-profit governmental agency that manages the Saint Paul Harbor and authorizes the Saint Paul Port Authority to engage in economic development activities inland; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Port Authority is managed by a 7-member Board of Commissioners. Pursuant to Minnesota Statute Chapter 469 Section 469.050 Subdivision 1, the Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor of the City of Saint Paul to a six-year term; and
WHEREAS, Matt Slaven has applied to serve as a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Saint Paul Port; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Melvin Carter wishes to appoint Matt Slaven to the Board of Commissioners of the Saint Paul Port Authority; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council approves the appointment of Matt Slaven to a six-year term on the Saint Paul Port Authority ending July 08, 2026.
