Amending the financing and spending plan of the Saint Paul Public Library in the amount of $455,000 to utilize available capital maintenance and CIB Contingency funds for emergency and related cornice, water infiltration, and stone repair at the George Latimer Central Library.

WHEREAS, Building Restoration Corporation (BRC) completed an inspection and stabilization of the roof and cornices of the George Latimer Central Library in February 2020; and
WHEREAS, BRC identified significant additional needs beyond a previously identified need to re-caulk the roof cornice; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Public Library received a proposal from BRC to complete all necessary work for $435,000; and
WHEREAS, additional engineering, inspection, and project management fees are expected to total $20,000; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Public Library is requesting use of $455,000 in available capital improvement budget contingency to complete the cornice, water infiltration, and stone repair at the George Latimer Central Library; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Saint Paul Public Library to amend the financing and spending budget for the project in the amount of $455,000; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.4 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for transfer of appropriation, funds of $455,000 in the Capital Improvement Budget; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $455,000 is available for transfer of appropriation in the Capital Improvement Budget, and said budget, as therefore adopted by the Council, is hereby further amended.
