Authorizing Fleet to use fund balance, built and unspent in 2019, to increase the 2020 Financing and Spending budgets in the Fleet budget by $72,232.60 to purchase equipment.

WHEREAS, Fleet intended to purchase and budgeted for two vehicles in 2019 for a total of $72,232.60; and
WHEREAS, the State contract for this purchase was delayed beyond the end of the City’s 2019 fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, manufacturing delays also slowed the purchase process: and
WHEREAS, Fleet’s budget was underspent in 2019 due to this delay; and
WHEREAS, Fleet is now able to place the order for the two vehicles with the State; and
WHEREAS, Fleet wishes to increase the 2020 Financing and Spending budgets by carrying forward the spending authority unspent in 2019 through a use of fund balance; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor, that $72,232.60 is available for appropriation in the 2020 Fleet budget, and said budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council is hereby further amended as indicated in the attached fiscal analysis form.
