Approving the Mayor’s reappointment of William Carter III to the Civil Service Commission.
Body
WHEREAS, Section 12.02 of the Saint Paul City Charter states that there shall be a Civil Service Commission consisting of three (3) members and two (3) alternates appointed by the mayor with the consent of the Saint Paul City Council and the Board of Education of Independent School District Number 625; and
WHEREAS, the reappointment of William Carter III is forwarded to Saint Paul Public School District for their approval.
WHEREAS, the council approved the appointment by Mayor Coleman of William Carter III to the Civil Service Commission on July 16, 2014 (RES 14-1178), and his term expired on June 30, 2020.
WHEREAS, William Carter III has applied for reappointment to the Civil Service Commission; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Carter, on the recommendation of staff, wishes to appoint William Carter III to a six-year term as an alternate on the Civil Service Commission ending June 30, 2026; and
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council approves the reappointment of William Carter III to the Civil Service Commission as a member for a term ending January 31, 2026; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council does hereby refer the reappointment of William Carter III to the Civil Service Commission as an alternate to the Board of Education of Independent School District Number 625 for their approval in accordance with Section 12.02 of the Saint Paul City Charter.
