Approving the Mayor’s reappointment of Jeanette Sobania to the Civil Service Commission.
Body
WHEREAS, Section 12.02 of the Saint Paul City Charter states that there shall be a Civil Service Commission consisting of three (3) members and two (3) alternates appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Saint Paul City Council and the Board of Education of Independent School District Number 625; and
WHEREAS, the reappointment of Jeanette Sobania was forwarded to Saint Paul Public School District for their approval.
WHEREAS, there are currently two vacant alternate seats open on the Civil Service Commission; and
WHEREAS, Jeanette Sobania has applied for reappointment to the Civil Service Commission; and
WHEREAS, the council approved the appointment by Mayor Chris Coleman of Jeanette Sobania to the Civil Service Commission on March 5, 2014 (RES 14-392), and his term expired on February 01, 2020.
WHEREAS, Mayor Carter, on the recommendation of staff, wishes to appoint Jeanette Sobania to a six-year term as an alternate on the Civil Service Commission ending February 01, 2026; and
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council approves the reappointment of Jeanette Sobania to the Civil Service Commission as an alternate for a term ending February 01, 2020; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council does hereby refer the reappointment of Jeanette Sobania to the Civil Service Commission as an alternate to the Board of Education of Independent School District Number 625 for their approval in accordance with Section 12.02 of the Saint Paul City Charter.
