Title

Amending the 2019 Capital Improvement Budget in the amount of $40,000 to accept additional financing from the Sanneh Foundation to fund City staff time for project supervision for the renovation of field space at the Conway Recreation Center.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Sanneh Foundation has leased the Conway Recreation Center and provided needed recreation programming to the area since October 2013; and

 

WHEREAS, Sanneh sought money from the State of Minnesota and in 2018 the Minnesota Legislature approved a GO Bond Grant of $4,500,000 (the “Grant”) for the renovation of the field space at Conway Recreation Center, with funds directed to the City for use at the Conway site; and

 

WHEREAS, Council authorized the appropriate City officials to negotiate a grant agreement and accept the funds in PH 19-87; and

 

WHEREAS, Sanneh is committing an additional $40,000 of its private financing to be used to reimburse the costs of City staff time for project supervision; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, and the advice of the Capital Improvement Budget Committee, does hereby certify that $40,000 in funds are available for appropriation in excess of those estimated in the 2019 budget and recommends the changes to the 2019 budget identified on the Financial Analysis; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $40,000 is available for appropriation in the 2019 Capital Improvement Budget, and said 2019 budget, as therefore adopted by the Council, is hereby further amended.
