Authorizing the Police Canine Unit to accept the K-9 Foundation donation of a direct payment to the U of M for veterinary expenses for Canine Gilly and Canine Rex for procedures not covered under the current University of Minnesota Veterinarian contract.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police K-9 Foundation is a tax-exempt nonprofit corporation organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes to provide financial support for the Saint Paul Police Canine Unit; and
WHEREAS, th K-9 Foundation has made a direct payment to the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center for expenses on procedures not covered under the current contract for Canine Gilly and Canine Rex: and
WHEREAS, the value of this donation from the St. Paul K-9 Foundation is $5,244.33; and
WHEREAS, the SPPD would like to accept the donation through the St. Paul Police K-9 Foundation for which the public purpose is for public safety; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this generous donation and extend its sincere thanks to the Saint Paul Police K-9 Foundation.
