Amending the financing and spending plans in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $297,200 to reflect additional 2020 funding expected from Como Friends.

Body

WHEREAS, Como Friends is a registered not-for-profit organization formed to promote, support, preserve and enhance the Como Zoo and Marjorie McNeely Conservatory; and

WHEREAS, the Como Friends' mission is to advance Como Park Zoo and Conservatory as a destination where people from all walks of life can gather, learn and enjoy the natural world; and

WHEREAS, Como Friends is donating an additional $297,200 to support and enhance the Como Zoo and Marjorie McNeely Conservatory; and 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to establish new budgets in the Grant Fund to receive the projected contribution and donation revenues of $3,000 for the Diet Prep Chopper, $3,000 for Bonsai, $3,100 for Enchanted Garden Improvements, $4,200 for the Seed Germination Chamber, $10,000 for Cat Bridge Signage/Block Coverup, $10,000 for Staff Breakroom Facelift, $12,000 for Conservation Partners, $12,000 for 2nd Grade Field Trips, $12,000 for MMC Lighting Upgrade, $13,000 for Orangutan Transport Crate, $15,000 for Organic Public Compost Waste, $15,000 for the Horticulture Utility Vehicle, $20,000 for Conservation Champions, $20,000 for Mixed Blood Theater, $50,000 for Como Harbor Opening Marketing, $60,000 for Visitor Center Flooring, $14,400 for Japanese Garden Consultant, $9,000 for Tea House Slope & Exit, $4,500 for Japanese Garden Plants, $5,000 for Exit Path and $2,000 for Staff Development; and     

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.01 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $297,200 in excess of those estimated in the 2020 budget; now, therefore, be it
