Authorizing the Police Department to enter into an agreement with Independent School District #625 for the School Resource Officer Program.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul and the Independent School District #625 wish to enter into an agreement whereby the City would place School Resource Officers into Saint Paul Schools; and
WHEREAS, one of the terms of the agreement calls for each party to indemnify the other party for the actions made by its employees, officials, agents and represntatives occuring in the performance of the agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department wishes to enter into the agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the promise of indemnification is appropriate; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul, Police Department is authorized to enter into an agreement that includes an indemnification clause with Independent School District #625 to provide the School Resource Officer Program to schools in the City of Saint Paul from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.
