Amending the financing and spending plans in the Mayor’s Office in the amount of $3,500 to accept a donation received from Comcast to support the 2020 Minnesota Mayors Reception on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Ordway Center for Performing Arts.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has a long tradition of hosting mayors from across the state for the Minnesota Mayors Reception each year during the Winter Carnival; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul will host the Minnesota Mayors Reception on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at the Ordway Center for Performing Arts; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Mayors Reception provides the opportunity to highlight Saint Paul’s vibrant downtown and attractions in the capital city; and
WHEREAS, Comcast is committed to supporting opportunities to highlight and promote attractions in Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, Comcast has offered to donate $3,500 to support the costs of 2020 Minnesota Mayors Reception on Saturday, February 1, 2020;
WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the donation received; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $3,500 in excess of those estimated in the 2020 budget; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, by the City Council that $3,500 is available for appropriation in the 2020 budget, and said budget, as heretofore adopted by Council, is hereby amended as outlined in the attached financial analysis; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City accepts the gift in the amount of $3,500, appropriates it for the intended uses, and thanks Comcast for its generous donation.
