Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation, Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, to accept donations of food and services in an amount not to exceed $4,000 from Lancer Hospitality and Como Friends through attending and participating in relationship-building, appreciation, and recognition events in 2020.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has contractual relationships with Lancer Hospitality and Como Friends related to the operation of the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory Campus; and
WHEREAS, City staff work closely with the staff of both organizations on a daily basis in order to accomplish the seamless provision of services at Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, and
WHEREAS, on a limited number of occurrences during 2020, City staff will be invited to participate in events and meetings which are facilitated by Lancer and/or Como Friends and in which food is provided as an integral part of the event, the cost of which is borned by Lancer and Como Friends; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of these events is to build upon existing working relationships, develop new relationships among individual staff groups, demonstrate appreciation for the ongoing cooperation and recognition for Campus-wide achievements, and establish new goals; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes the Department of Parks and Recreation, Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, to accept donations of food and services from Lancer Hospitality and Como Friends through attending and participating in relationship building appreciation and recognition events in 2020 in an amount not to exceed $4,000 and thanks Lancer Hospitality and Como Friends for their gracious donations.
