Authorizing the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory to accept in-kind donations of plant and animal related goods, whose individual value is under $100, from various sources during the calendar year of 2020.
Body
WHEREAS, The Como Park Zoo and Conservatory periodically receives unsolicited contributions of plant and/or animal related goods from a variety of sources; and
WHEREAS, The Como Park Zoo and Conservatory will utilize these goods to enhance the displays of the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory, Como Zoo grounds or Como Zoo animals for enrichment purposes; and
WHEREAS, The Como Park Zoo and Conservatory would like to be able to accept the donations whose value is under $100 and report them on a quarterly basis to the Council for acceptance; and
WHEREAS, The City believes that accepting these donations would benefit the residents of Saint Paul as they would enhance the amenities of the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory to accept donations as described above for the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory as they provide a public benefit to the residents of Saint Paul, and to report them on a quarterly basis to the City Council.
