Accepting the gift of travel costs from American Public Works Association National for Beverly Farraher (Public Works) to attend the 2020 Combined Committee Meeting in Kansas City, MO, February 19 - 21, 2020.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul gains valuable knowledge from its participation in American Public Works Association (APWA) National and the APWA Diversity & Inclusion Committee; and
WHEREAS, this meeting will help the City strengthen its work with and learn from other public works entities; and
WHEREAS, the APWA National has generously agreed to cover the costs of the trip for a Public Works representative as a member of the APWA Diversity & Inclusion Committee to participate in the meeting; and
WHEREAS, the Council finds that there is a public purpose for the expenditure of funds; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the City of Saint Paul to accept the gift of up to $2,000 from American Public Works Association (APWA) National, to cover the costs of airfare, lodging, and food for Beverly Farraher (Public Works) to attend the 2020 Combined Committee Meeting in Kansas City, MO from February 19 to February 21, 2020.
