Approving the Mayor’s reappointments of James McClean to to a two year term on the Workforce Innovation Board.
Body
WHEREAS, local workforce development boards are required entities under the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act to provide oversight for the public workforce system; and
WHEREAS, The Workforce Innovation Board is made up of thirty-three (33) members representing Business, Community-Based Organizations, One-Stop Workforce Center Partners, Labor, Economic Development, Education, and Elected Officials; and
WHEREAS, James McClean has applied for consideration for reappointment to the Workforce Improvement Board and has been recommended for reappointment by Workforce Solutions staff;
WHEREAS, the council approved the appointment by Mayor Chris Coleman of James McClean to the Workforce Innovation Board on July 24, 2013 (RES 13-1063) and his reappointment on August 5, 2015 (15-1404) and July 19, 2017 (RES 17-1072): and
WHEREAS, Mayor Carter wishes to reappoint James McClean to the Workforce Innovation Board; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council approves the reappointment of James McClean to the remainder of a two year term on the Workforce Innovation Board ending July 31, 2021.
