Resolution approving the final 2020 HRA budget and certifying the final HRA property tax levy payable in 2020

WHEREAS, staff has presented the proposed 2020 HRA budget to the Board of Commissioners of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota (“HRA”) for its consideration; and
WHEREAS, staff has recommended changes to the proposed 2020 HRA budget as shown in the attachment; and
WHEREAS, the HRA Board of Commissioners, in order to comply with the State of Minnesota’s Truth-In-Taxation laws, Minn. Stat. Section 275.065, subd. 1, must certify a final HRA property tax levy payable in 2020 to Ramsey County by December 31, 2019: and
WHEREAS, the HRA certified property tax levy payable in 2020, is $4,547,359, calculated as follows:
HRA General Fund $4,456,412
2.0% Delinquency Allowance 90,947
Proposed HRA Tax Levy $4,547,359
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the HRA Board of Commissioners that pursuant to the provision of Minnesota Section 469.033, Subdivision 6, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota, does hereby levy the Housing and Redevelopment property tax payable in the year 2020, on all real and personal property within the City of Saint Paul, computed in the manner provided by Minnesota Statutes, Section 469.033, Subdivision 6, with all adjustments authorized by law. The Housing and Redevelopment property tax payable in 2020, is $4,547,359 which amount is authorized by law; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the HRA budget for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2020 as proposed and revised by the HRA Board of Commissioners as indicated in the attachment, is hereby adopted, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Executive Director is hereby authorized and directed to submit the revised 2020 HRA budget to the Mayor of the City of Saint Paul to be submitted to the Council of the City of Saint Paul for consideration, approval, and certification of the HRA final property tax levy in the manner provided by law.
