Title

Authorizing the Police Department to enter into the Joint Powers Agreement with the State of Minnesota, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for the Minnesota Anti-Heroin Task Force Program.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department (SPPD) would like to enter into a Joint Powers Agreement with the State of Minnesota, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) for the Minnesota Anti-Heroin Task Force Program; and

 

WHEREAS, this agreement defines the working relationship between the BCA and SPPD to investigate illicit activities related to the distribution of heroin or unlawful distribution of prescription opioids and defines the reimbursement to SPPD for overtime costs incurred during these investigations; and

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the council approves entering into and authorizes Assistant Chief Robert Thomasser to implement the attached Joint Powers Agreement.
