Authorizing the Fire Department to accept the 2018 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) in the amount of $341,113.63 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for training for firefighters.
Body
WHEREAS, the Fire Department would like to accept the 2018 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) to provide RIT training and fire ground training for firefighters; and
WHEREAS, the total grant amount provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) would be $375,225 of which the federal government would provide $341,113.63 for the training; and
WHEREAS, the grant requires a 10% match of $34,111.37 which would be paid from 10022210 - Fire Operations over the grant period of performance; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department was given permission to apply for this grant on RES 18-1768 which was approved on November 7, 2018, now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, tha the City Council accepts the 2018 Assistance to Firefighters Grant and authorizes the proper city officials to sign such documents needed to accept the money
