Authorizing an increase in the Parks and Recreation Grant Fund Budget in the amount of $1,795,500 to reflect various grant funding awarded in 2019 from the State of Minnesota DEED, Minnesota State Arts Board, Como Friends, Metropolitan Council, and State of Minnesota DNR.

Body
WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation has been awarded an increased grant funding in the amount of $300,000 from the State of Minnesota, Department of Employment and Economic Development, to continue funding for Right Track operations during the State’s 2020 Fiscal Year; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has been awarded an additional $507,000 from Metropolitan Council for Great River Passage in State Fiscal Years 2019-2023; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has been awarded an additional $200,000 in Legacy Funding from the Metropolitan Council for operations of the Como Shuttle Program in State Fiscal Years 2020 and 2021; and

WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation has been awarded $17,000 from the Minnesota State Arts Board for McDonough Recreation Center; and

WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation has received $391,500 from Como Friends for heating upgrades at the Como Zoo Main Building; and

WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation has been awarded $380,000 from State of Minnesota, Department of Natural Resources for the Como Zoo Grant in State Fiscal Years 2020 and 2021; and

WHEREAS, none of the additional grant funding listed above requires any matching funds; and

WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation wishes to amend these Grant Fund budgets with spending plans for the additional funding; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.01 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $1,795,500 in excess of those estimated in the current Grant Budget; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes these amendments for the Life-to-date Grant Budget.
