Setting fine amounts for violations of Section 329.02 (B)(3) of the Legislative Code pertaining to use of alarm system without a permit.

WHEREAS, Section 329.02 prohibits use of alarm system without a permit.
WHEREAS, Section 329.02 provides that when police respond to an alarm at a location and it is determined there is no alarm permit for that location, the alarm system user may be issued a citation by the Saint Paul Police Department for violation of use of an alarm system without a permit,
WHEREAS, based on the City’s established fee schedule for issuance of an alarm permit and the fee schedule for excessive false alarms, and the City’s interest in deterring individuals from using an alarm that calls for a police response without a permit as required by City ordinance, the Council recommends a fine in the amount of $150.00 for operating an alarm system without a permit, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council requests the Ramsey County District Court to amend the City of Saint Paul’s Fine Schedule to reflect the following changes:
