Accepting the gift of the cost of travel expenses from The Workers Lab for Mayor Melvin Carter and Senior Policy Advisor Daniel Yang to attend the Ideas to Action: Advancing Cooperative Economies Locally session to be held in Boston, MA, September 21-22, 2019.

WHEREAS, The Workers Lab seeks to create innovative, replicable and revenue generating solutions that improve the lives of low-wage workers across the United States; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Melvin Carter and Daniel Yang, Senior Policy Advisor, have been invited to a session titled Ideas to Action: Advancing Cooperative Economies Locally to be held in Boston, MA, September 21-22, 2019 with other local elected officials and policy advisors to explore the role municipal government has in cooperative economies, and
WHEREAS, The Workers Lab has offered to cover the travel expenses, lodging and meals for Mayor Carter and Daniel Yang to attend the session; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that attendance at the session is beneficial to the City by providing an opportunity for participants to engage in sessions to develop expertise, obtain practical knowledge on the topic, and development of a professional network; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of travel expenses, lodging and meals for Mayor Melvin Carter and Daniel Yang to attend the Ideas to Action: Advancing Cooperative Economies Locally session in Boston and thanks The Workers Lab for its generous gift.
