Stated Reason for Appeal (if given): like previous time, I do not owe any late fees.

Staff Comments: The property owner paid $60.83 to Highland Sanitation on 3/7/19. The due date for Quarter 1 2019 was 1/25/19. The first late fee was applied on 1/31/19 and the second late fee was applied on 2/28/19. The property owner is responsible for paying the late fees, as the bill was paid after the due date. The property owner also had a late fee of $3.03 for the Quarter 4 2018 bill, which was removed during the 5/16/19 legislative hearing.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Office of Financial Services Real Estate Section has attached to this Council File both a report of completion outlining the costs and fees associated with Collection of Delinquent Garbage Bills for services during January to March 2019. (File No. CG1902C2, Assessment No. 190110) and the assessment roll including all properties for which these assessments are proposed for Council ratification; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council’s Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed an appeal of this assessment and developed a recommendation for the City Council with respect to this assessment; and

 

WHEREAS, a public hearing having been conducted for the above improvement, and said assessment having been further considered by the Council and having been considered financially satisfactory; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that pursuant to Chapter 14 of the Saint Paul City Charter, said assessment is hereby ratified and payable in one installment.
