Authorizing the City of Saint Paul to accept a donation up to $200 from Move Minnesota in order to enhance city employee participation in a survey regarding commuting behavior.
Body
WHEREAS the City of Saint Paul wishes to conduct a survey of all city employees regarding their commuting behavior, in order to assess what steps could be taken to encourage less single-occupant vehicles use and more use of lower carbon emission alternatives; and
WHEREAS Move Minnesota, wishes to donate up to $200 to the City of Saint Paul for the purpose of providing an incentive for participation in the survey; and
WHEREAS, the survey will help the City determine progress toward and opportunities to decrease single-occupant vehicle commuting, increase the use of transit, carpooling, bicycling and walking, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with city employee commuting; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul’s Comprehensive Plan, Draft Climate Action and Resilience Plan, and other plans and polices support the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and making it easier and safer for people to use transit, carpooling, biking, and walking for as many trip types as possible;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the acceptance of this generous donation of up to $200 from Move Minnesota.
