Accepting the gift of tuition, accommodation, meals and airfare from Harvard Kennedy School for Deputy Mayor Jaime Tincher and Human Resources Director Andrea Turner to attend separate Harvard Kennedy School sessions in June and July 2019, in Boston, MA.

WHEREAS, Deputy Mayor Jaime Tincher and Human Resources Director Andrea Turner have been invited to participate in separate sessions hosted by Harvard Kennedy School to participate in leadership development courses taught by Harvard Kennedy School faculty; and
WHEREAS, this invitation is an opportunity for participants to engage in sessions to develop expertise, obtain practical knowledge, and engage in activities to expand leadership abilities while developing a professional network of leading senior leadership from state and local governments, as well as the private sector; and
WHEREAS, Harvard Kennedy School has offered to cover the tuition, accommodation, meals, and airfare for Deputy MayorJaime Tincher to attend the Leadership Decision Making: Optimizing Organizational Performance session from June 9-14, 2019, in Boston, MA at the Harvard Kennedy School, and for Human Resources Director Andrea Turner to attend the Senior Executives in State and Local Government session from July 8-26, 2019, at the Harvard Kennedy School in Boston, MA in an amount not to exceed $9,400 for Deputy Mayor Tincher and $16,500 for Director Turner; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of tuition, accommodation, meals, and airfare for Deputy Mayor Jaime Tincher and Human Resources Director Andrea Turner to attend both the June 9-14 session, and the July 8-26 session, and thanks Harvard Kennedy School for thier generosity.
