Stated Reason for Appeal (if given): The full bill was paid through Republic Services website before the due date.
Staff Comments: After 90 days of non-payment, on 1/5/19, Republic Services turned over the delinquent balance to the City. Once the balance is turned over to the City, the property owner is responsible for paying the delinquent balance to the City. Any payment made to Republic Services after 1/5/19 was applied to the Quarter 1 2019 bill. The property owner essentially prepaid for the Quarter 1 2019 bill, but did not pay the Quarter 4 2018 bill. The property owner is responsible for paying the City now for the Quarter 4 2018 bill.

WHEREAS, the Office of Financial Services Real Estate Section has attached to this Council File both a report of completion outlining the costs and fees associated with Collection of Delinquent Garbage Bills for services during October to December 2018. (File No. CG1901D4, Assessment No. 190066) and the assessment roll including all properties for which these assessments are proposed for Council ratification; and
WHEREAS, the City Council’s Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed an appeal of this assessment and developed a recommendation for the City Council with respect to this assessment; and
