Approving the use of grant funds through the Neighborhood STAR Year-Round Program for Olu’s Home.
Body
WHEREAS, on March 13, 2019, the Neighborhood STAR Board reviewed a proposal from Olu’s Home, Inc. for grant financing through the Neighborhood STAR Year-Round Program for the addition of a sprinkler system at 1850 East 7th Street; and
WHEREAS, this project will positively impact the city’s East Side with the addition of this new senior assisted living facility; and
WHEREAS, due to the proposal being of substantial community significance, a waiver to the Neighborhood STAR Guideline requiring a $1 for $1 private match is being recommended; and
WHEREAS, project activities occurring after April 8 are eligible for STAR dollars; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Mayor and the Saint Paul City Council to participate in the financing of these activities by providing up to $10,000 in grant financing through the Ward 7 Neighborhood STAR Year-Round Program; now be it
RESOLVED, upon the recommendation of the Mayor, the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby authorizes and directs the appropriate City officials to execute the necessary grant documents to implement this Resolution, subject to approval by the City Attorney; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, staff of the Department of Planning and Economic Development are further authorized and directed to proceed with all other actions necessary to implement this Resolution.
