Authorizing the City Attorney's Office to pursue an available funding opportunity offered by Otto Bremer Trust.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Otto Bremer Trust has released a request for proposals for grant funding for projects that support and strengthen the community in a variety of ways, and

 

WHEREAS, the deadline for applications under this request for proposals is June 27, 2019, and

 

WHEREAS, a grant of up to $100,000 will be awarded to the recipient of the Otto Bremer Trust Grant and there is no match requirement, and

 

WHEREAS, the St. Paul City Attorney’s Office, Criminal Division is in the process of building and implementing innovative initiatives focused on addressing the needs of the St. Paul community through alternatives to traditional prosecution, such as the Neighborhood Justice Program, and require funding to make them possible, and

 

WHEREAS, we recognize that the initiatives the City Attorney’s Office is advancing greatly benefit the citizens of the City of St. Paul and plays an integral role in the criminal justice system, and

 

WHEREAS, the St. Paul City Attorney’s Office, Criminal Division wishes to pursue the available funding opportunity offered by the Otto Bremer Trust by applying for its grant,

 

THEREFORE, be it resolved that the St. Paul City Council authorizes the St. Paul City Attorney, Lyndsey M. Olson, and her designees to apply for funding.
