Authorizing the Police Department to remit actual costs of expenses of travel for eight law enforcement Explorers and five officers to Washington D.C. to attend the Explorer National Police Week from May 10, 2019 to May 16, 2019 from a dedicated grant awarded for this purpose.
Body
WHEREAS, the police department is seeking authority to pay for actual costs of expenses of travel for eight explorers and five officers to Washington, D.C. to attend National Police Week from May 10, 2019 to May 16, 2019; and
WHEREAS, the police department has been awarded a grant in the amount of $19,200 from the St. Paul Police Foundation for this purpose: and
WHEREAS, the public and government purpose of the travel is to further police explorer opportunities to learn about policing and the service of police officers; and
WHEREAS, the total expenditures will not exceed the amount budgeted for these expenditures from the grant awarded to the police department; and
WHEREAS, the per diem reimbursement will not exceed the Runzheimer scale for such expense;
THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED, that the proper city official(s) are hereby ordered to pay for the above mentioned expenses not to eceed $19,200 for eight explorers and five officers to attend National Police Week in Washington,D.C.
A copy of said order is to be kept on file and on record in the Office of Financial Services.
