Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department in the amount of $700 for a stipend received from the Office of Justice Programs, and accepting the gift of the cost of conference registration for Kara Hirdman, Health and Wellness Coordinator, and Bridget Morales, Administrative Manager, to attend the 2019 Conference on Crime and Victimization in Brainerd, MN on May 23 and 24, 2019.

Body

WHEREAS, thet Minnesota Department of Public Safety's Office of Justice Programs is holding a conference in Brainerd, Minnesota on May 21-23, 2019; and

WHEREAS,  the Office of Justice Programs has offered to pay a $700 stipend to cover the costs associated with staff attending and presenting at the conference; and

WHEREAS, this contribution will be used to pay for health and wellness supplies for the Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, attendance at the Conference on Crime and victimization will equip staff with the ideas and tools to advance best practices in response to victims in the course of their response calls; and

WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the contribution received; a

WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.01 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $700 in excess of those estimated in the 2019 budget; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends the additions as specified in the financial analysis attachcment be made to the 2019 budget; now, therefore, be it;

RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby accepts this contribution of $700, thanks the Office of Justice Programs for its generous gift, and approves the changes to the 2019 budget.
