Recognizing April as Autism Awareness Month in the City of Saint Paul.

WHEREAS, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a disability that affects one’s capacity to communicate and interact effectively with others, and,
WHEREAS, many of us have friends and/or family who have ASD or care for someone who does, and
WHEREAS, April is National Autism Awareness Month and it is hoped that the general population becomes more educated about this condition, now,
THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Saint Paul City Council does officially recognize April as Autism Spectrum Disorder Month in the City of Saint Paul, and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council encourages all our residents to get to know their neighbors with ASD so they may value and appreciate people with ASD for the unique and special individuals they are.
