Accepting the gift of airfare, transportation, and food expenses from the National League of Cities for City staff to the attend the National League of Cities’ Supporting a Strong Prenatal to Age 3 convening.

WHEREAS, Muneer Karcher-Ramos, Office of Financial Empowerment Director, Daniel Yang, Senior Policy Advisor, and Ikram Koliso, College Savings Account Manager, have been invited by the National League of Cities to a convening to participate in meetings to learn from other cities who have invested in Prenatal to Age 3, taking place in Fort Worth, Texas, April 2 through April 3, 2019; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is formally part of PN-3 Adjunct Teams; and
WHEREAS, this will be an opportunity for the City of Saint Paul to hear from national leaders on early learning landscapes, the need for policy support, and opportunities to increase impact; and
WHEREAS, the convening will be attended by policy leaders that have expertise and experience in key policy elements for early childhood success; and
WHEREAS, the convening will be focused on strategies cities can incorporate to support strong Prenatal to Age 3 agendas; and
WHEREAS, the National League of Cities offered to cover all expenses related to airfare, transportation, hotel reservation, and food expenses for Muneer Karcher-Ramos, Daniel Yang, and Ikram Koliso; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Pau City Council finds that attendance at the National League of Cities’ Supporting a Strong Prenatal to Age 3 convening will be beneficial to the City in enhancing policy elements for early childhood success in the City of Saint Paul; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts the cost of travel, hotel, and food expenses from the National League of Cities and appropriates it to the use of Muneer Karcher-Ramos, Daniel Yang, and Ikram Koliso attendance at the National League of Cities’ Supporting a Strong Prenatal to Age 3 convening, and thanks the National League of Cit...
