Authorizing the City Attorney's Office to pursue an available funding opportunity offered by the Bush Foundation.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Bush Foundation has released a request for proposals for the Bush Prize for Community Innovation that celebrates organizations that have a record of successful community problem solving, and

 

WHEREAS, the deadline for applications under this request for proposals is April 11, 2019, and

 

WHEREAS, a grant of 25% of the organization’s last fiscal year budget, up to $500,000, will be awarded to the recipient of the Bush Prize and there is no match requirement, and

 

WHEREAS, the St. Paul City Attorney’s Office, Criminal Division is in the process of building and implementing innovative initiatives focused on addressing the needs of the St. Paul community through alternatives to traditional prosecution and require funding to make them possible, and

 

WHEREAS, we recognize that the initiatives the City Attorney’s Office is advancing greatly benefit the citizens of the City of St. Paul and plays an integral role in the criminal justice system, and

 

WHEREAS, the St. Paul City Attorney’s Office, Criminal Division wishes to pursue the available funding opportunity offered by the Bush Foundation by applying for the Bush Prize,

 

THEREFORE, be it resolved that the St. Paul City Council authorizes the St. Paul City Attorney, Lyndsey M. Olson, and her designees to apply for funding.
