Approving the agreement between the Saint Paul Fire Department and the East Metro Public Safety Training Facility.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department has need of a place to train firefighters; and
WHEREAS, the East Metro Public Safety Training Facility has a facility that the Saint Paul Fire Department can use to train firefighters ; and
WHEREAS, the agreement for use of the facility requires that the City indemnify the lessor for injuries or damages to person or property except those caused by the lessor's gross negligence; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the expenditure of public funds in the form of promise of indemnification serves a public purpose as it will enable firefighters to receive critical training; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, the the Saint Paul City Council authorizes the proper city officials to sign the agreement with the East Metro Public Safety Training Facility which contains an indemnification provision.
