Accepting the gift of the costs of travel expenses from the National League of Cities (NLC) for the City of Saint Paul delegation including: Councilmember Jane Prince and Chief Equity Officer, Toni Newborn to attend the National League of Cities’ cross site convening in Washington D.C. to be held from April 11 - April 12, 2019.

WHEREAS, the National League of Cities has invited the City of Saint Paul’s delegation to attend the cross site convening in April; and
WHEREAS, at NLC’s convening, the Saint Paul delegation will have the opportunity to participate and learn about ways to incorporate racial equity, healing, and trauma initiatives into the work of the city; and
WHEREAS, the NLC has offered to pay for the costs of travel expenses; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul find that attendance at the cross-site convening will be beneficial to the City in enhancing the city’s equity framework; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of the cost of travel expenses to National League of Cities’ cross site convening, and thanks the National League of Cities for its generous gift.
