Authorizing the Police Department to accept a grant from the Saint Paul Police Foundation for the Non-Lethal Pepperball program.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation was formed in 2005 to help the Saint Paul Police Department (SPPD) in many ways including ensuring that public safety for our citizens remains the number one priority for our city; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation board of directors has approved the granting/donation a total of $72,000 and will enter into a Sponsor Agreement with SPPD; and
WHEREAS, the grant is for the Non-Lethal Pepper Ball program from the contribution made by the Lynn Johnson Family Foundation to support this program; and
WHEREAS, the SPPD would like to accept the donation for which the public purpose is for public safety and officer training; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this generous donation and extend its sincere thanks to the Saint Paul Police Foundation.
