Accepting the gift of travel expenses, lodging, and conference costs, not to exceed $1500, from The Recycling Partnership, for Kris Hageman, Public Works Recycling Program Manager, to attend The Recycling Partnership’s Inaugural Leadership Summit: 50 Cities Driving the Circular Economy to be held June 24-26, 2019 in Chicago, Illinois.

 

Body

Whereas, The Recycling Partnership has selected Kris Hageman, Public Works Recycling Program Manager, to participate in the Inaugural Leadership Summit: 50 Cities Driving the Circular Economy conference on June 24-26, 2019 in Chicago, Illinois; and,

 

WHEREAS, The Recycling Partnership has graciously offered to provide conference registration, lodging, and a travel stipend not to exceed $1500 for selected participants; and,

 

WHEREAS, the conference will feature results-driven workshops on implementing infrastructure, fighting contamination, and using effective, aligned recycling messaging to better engage residents to capture quality recycling materials at the cart; and,

 

WHEREAS, participants will be equipped with a comprehensive set of ready-to-use tools and resources to drive recycling systems change within their communities; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that attendance at this conference will be beneficial to the City by enhancing the work of the city’s recycling program;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of travel expenses, lodging and conference registration from The Recycling Partnership and thanks The Recycling Partnership for their generous gift.
