WHEREAS, Boca Chica opened fifty-five years ago today by Guillermo and Gloria Frias, grandparents of operating manager Jose Frias; and

WHEREAS, Boca Chica has been an anchor establishment for the vibrant and rich community on Saint Paul’s West Side for all these years; and

WHEREAS, Boca Chica serves authentic and delicious Mexican food and has received numerous awards for being the best Mexican restaurant in the Twin Cities; and 

WHEREAS, Boca Chica celebrates its community’s cultural heritage through the preservation of beautiful murals painted by Mexican muralist Rigel; and

WHEREAS, Boca Chica further contributes to its community by offering educational outreach on the history and culture of Mexico and the West Side; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul is deeply grateful to the Frias family and their commitment to Saint Paul and the West Side and congratulates them on 55 years of exemplary food and service.
